Masculine Interior Bedrooms

Happy Monday friends, I hope you all had a wonderful weekend. Today I decided to post about something that I'm often asked. How to include views of a man when it comes to decorating the home? Mostly I can lead by experience, my husband and I in many ways are on the same page when it comes to styles but time and again we disagree on decorating choices for our home. My husband love warm in cozy and I love light and serene something you call calm and peaceful but what I’ve learned along the way, when we communicate we often find out that we have a lot of the same views. So therefore it becomes about finding the middle ground, give and take but no confrontations or compromising for either of the parties. Ladies take note when your husband or partner likes a certain style, see how you can incorporate him in the decorating decisions and vice versa men when you see your wife or partner admiring a certain style take note and then a middle ground could be determined. When decorating my bedroom I had to take in to consideration that my husband likes warm and cozy then I realize hmm I like cozy and I like warmth so the next hurtle was how to bring light and dark together. Well I would say I may have leaned more tours’ my husband side warm in cozy but it didn’t bother me as long as I could change it to light and serene in the summer mouths.  That was how we met in the middle. The  question still remains, how do you meet in the middle? Ladies here are some beautiful bedrooms with men in mind. I’m sure finding the middle ground in these rooms wouldn’t be a problem.

I love this room, the four poster bed is beautiful and I love the texture on the walls. This is a middle ground I welcome.
This bed I always loved from the Bombay company before they went out of business, boy do I miss that store. I absolutely love this look.

Now this room is warm and cozy, light and serene this is a room that any married couple can meet in the middle of. Love it!!

This is a room I can clearly live in as a women although this room has a lot of man qualities it's very neutral for a women also.

Very clean and straight lined

Can't you see this as a boys bedroom or something even for guest
If this isn't a mans room, I don't know what is!! I love the rich woods and leather throughout

This has to be one of my favorite rooms I love the dark and lightness of this room. The wainscot molding is gorgeous
Light and dark plays well in this room any man would love this.

Ladies one last thought. Let this be a fun experience because there are  when there are no middle ground often rooms never gets done because no one is willing to bend if the both of you are  agreeable to bend a little for the other you will soon be on your way to a beautiful room.

Remember if you should ever need any assistance in making these decisions you can always call on Key Interiors be Shinay. This is what I do and I'll be happy to make your rooms what you both can live with. With that being said I would like to ask a few questions.

Do you think you can meet in the middle on any of the rooms above?

Which rooms do you like most?

Will you use any of these ideas when planning a master bedroom redo?

weekly Interior Designer Moment-Illya Hendrix and Thomas Allardyce

This is another weekly interior designer moment and this week goes to- Illya Hendrix and Thomas Allardyce.
This week’s research was in no way disappointing when I learned more about the top Los Angeles designers Illya Hendrix and Thomas Allardyce. The purpose for my research is to keep up on the latest and most desirable designs and therefore I can bring them back to you but just as important it is to see where and how I can grow as a designer and I must say that I am learning more and more each time I do my designer homework. This week I have been educated once again just to speak of a few I have been educated on how to make design appear timeless and unchanging and most of all elegant and well-designed. Illya and Thomas have been Partners since 1978, needless to say I was only 6 yrs of age then so I knew that I was in for a treat while researching their great designs – After taking a look through their portfolio there were so many tasteful, sophisticated and elegant interiors that just made me smile.
Illya Hendrix and Thomas Allardyce have designed homes throughout California as well as abroad, including Australia and Saudi Arabia.  There designs maintain authenticity throughout the history of their work. Their work is all so inspiring. I hope that you will appreciate the work these great designers bring and be as inspired as I am.  Check out their great designs below

So its time for Fridays Runway Decorate week 2. I hope you all enjoyed week one and couldn't wait to see what week two had to offer. Check out how this weeks runway designs inspired  interior designers.

Wow!! This room looks like its right of the runway model. I love how the designer used the color on the chairs and the pop of green in the hanging lamp shade. On the model the green is the largest in color but in the room the designer only had to use a pop of it in the shade. Great work!!!

What, What Say What!!! Check it out the black counsel table and the yellow in the wall. This room is definitely wearing the model!!
I can personally say that I absolutely love this runway outfit and the room is spot on. I will wear this outfit any day look at that skirt “I love it” The yellow blouse models the color on the walls and the pink skirt the chair awl so nice and the canvas up against the wall shows just how lovely these colors works together and the chandelier just brings it all together. Love it!!

What Demands Are Place On Your Living Room?

A living room is not a work space unlike a kitchen or a home office or even a bathroom, yet it has more diverse demands placed upon it than any other room in the house.  For one person, it could be enjoying a drink with friends; for another, it could be curling up with a good book. It is the most unrestricted of family spaces, yet it must have a warmth and intimacy to calm and soothe the individuals who live there. Check out the many uses of the living rooms.

Can’t you just see this living room designed for a fun party? This room is arranged in such a colorful party theme way. What about a sweet sixteen party or maybe a night out with girls. This room is inspiring if nothing else I just love this room.

Check out this blast from the past vintage twist holiday gathering living room. You can see all the party treats such as the vintage cocktail caddy filled with mixed nuts.  Isn't this just comfy!!! when you can have a motorcycle in your living room you know its casual fun.  Source ChicagoHome and Garden

Hosting a baby shower in a living room is an option for many when there is a limited budget but where do you put the gifts and how do you hang the decorations? Here is a room that did just that!!! As you can see that the host used limited decorations and she put all the gifts by the fireplace which is more often than not the focal point of the room.

So what do you do when you have to do everything in your living room? This is what you call an all in one room. This room is lovely despite the fact that the homeowner has to sleep in this room along with sit and entertain here. If this was my living arrangement I wouldn't be mad at all, as long as it looks like this!!! Room done by:  Blair Waldorf

Another all in one room!! How great is this, the walls with the brick is all out beautiful but lets talk about the uses of this room!! not only is it a living room but also an office, Library and a place to sleep. This is very smart. Rooms done by: Blair Waldorf

OK, let’s face it!!! If some of us didn’t have a living room!! Really, where will the piano live? I must say “looking at this living room its eye candy for me" I wouldn’t mind my piano living in there as long as I get to look at it.  I love candy for the eyes….

So.... What demands are placed upon your living room? Does your living room perform many duties such as baby showers, all in one room or is it a place where the piano lives?
